New Evening Knitting Group!

Have a Yarn has started an evening knitting group! It is held every Tuesday evening from 6-8 pm. The store will be closed to the public during this time but those attending the group will be able to make purchases if need be.

Sock Knitting Class

On Saturday February 18th, Angela Churchill is teaching a sock knitting class. Socks are our most popular project here at Have a Yarn but there are still folks who are intimidated by them. This is your chance to learn the anatomy of knitting a sock. The cost for this class is $30.00, all materials provided, and it runs from 12 to 4 here at the store. Knit Along at Have a Yarn

We are planning to start another Knit Along on February 18th. This knit along will be to make Lucy Neatby's Pinstripe Sock pattern. It uses the technique of double knitting and produces an exquisite sock (we have one on display in the store or see photos below). Tami Cushing will be teaching this adventure, Saturday mornings from 10 to 12 starting on February 18th. You need to be comfortable knitting a basic sock and using both hands to knit (or willing to learn!). Besides the pattern you will use 2 100gr skeins of sock yarn (contrasting colours) and 2.25 mm double point needles, set of 5. Sounds like fun and a challenge! The cost is $10 per session.
